Money skills are one of my very favorite skills to teach. We use money every day and it is so meaningful for our students to have this experience as well. Money is fun and functional!
As teachers, we need to help our students understand the meaning of colors and why they’re important. Take a look around you right now, the trees are green, the sky is blue. These things are important for our students to know too!

In special education, students need to be able to do a routine in a specific sequence. They also need to understand that certain events need to happen before other events. For example, in cooking, students need to take the ingredients out of the refrigerator before they can eat.
Writing can be overwhelming for students, and it can be overwhelming to teach. There’s not a great writing program out there for students with disabilities. This is often an area where students have not had a lot of instruction and practice. We need to explicitly teach writing instruction to student is a self-contained program.
